Cairo

• Contraband in prison: Gerard Carter, 29, of Coxsackie, was arrested by state police at their barracks, 78R McLaren Road Ext., South Cairo, at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday and was charged with five felony counts of possession of dangerous contraband in prison and with misdemeano­r possession of a controlled substance. Carter, an inmate, was returned to prison. Further informatio­n was unavailabl­e.

Catskill

• Drugs: Skylar R. Mann, 25, of Catskill, was arrested by state police at Catskill at 11:29 a.m. Tuesday at 64 Grove School Road in the town and was charged with five counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of criminal use of drug parapherna­lia and one count of possession of more than 2 ounces of marijuana, all misdemeano­rs. Mann was released with appearance tickets for Catskill Town Court.

Plattekill

• Drugs: Danielle L. Lavello, 19, of Wallkill, was arrested by state police at Highland at 8:24 p.m. Tuesday on state Route 32 and was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeano­r, and with having a controlled substance in a non-original container, a violation. Lavello was released with appearance tickets for Plattekill Town Court.

• Shopliftin­g: Rebecca A. Kachmer, 30, of New Paltz, was arrested by state police at Highland at 4:21 p.m. Tuesday at 2066 state Route 32 and was charged with petit larceny, a misdemeano­r. Kachmer was released with an appearance ticket for Plattekill Town Court. Further informatio­n was unavailabl­e.

Rosendale

• Grand larceny/conspiracy: Joseph R. Flemming, 19, and Anthony S. Ermo, 17, both of Rosendale, were arrested by Rosendale police at 2 p.m. Monday and were each charged with grand larceny, a felony, and conspiracy, a misdemeano­r. Police said Flemming and Ermo had allegedly entered Favata’s Table Rock Tours bicycle shop and asked the owner to help them repair a bicycle. While he was distracted, the pair fled with a bicycle from the display rack that was valued at $3,700, police said. They were arrested a short time later, police said. Flemming was sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $3,500 bail pending a court appearance. Ermo was released with appearance tickets for Rosendale Town Court.

• DWI: Max E. Shermet, 21, of Dobbs Ferry, was stopped by Rosendale police at 1:30 a.m. Saturday after allegedly failing to dim his high beam lights to oncoming traffic and was found to be intoxicate­d, police said. He was charged with drunken driving, a misdemeano­r, and with failing to dim headlights, an infraction. Shermet was released with appearance tickets for Rosendale Town Court.

Town of Ulster

• Forged instrument: Gerald Calderon, 55, of Kingston, was arrested by town of Ulster police at 8:22 p.m. Monday following a complaint from the Walmart store, 601 Frank Sottile Blvd.. and was charged with possession of a forged instrument, a felony. The store reported the alleged passing of counterfei­t currency by a male customer. Calderon was released with an appearance ticket for Ulster Town Court.

• Menacing: Brian C. Garcia, 36, of West Hurley, was arrested by town of Ulster police at 8:10 p.m. Sunday and was charged with menacing, a misdemeano­r. Garcia is accused of displaying a knife during a domestic dispute. He was released with an appearance ticket for Ulster Town Court and an order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim.
