City of Kingston
• DWI: Diana L. Jones, 55, of Pleasant Valley, was arrested by state police at Ulster at 1:36 p.m. Monday at 500 Washington Ave. and was charged with drunken driving, aggravated drunken driving and aggravated unlicensed driving, all felonies; and with driving without a license, an infraction, and a stop/stand/park violation. Further information was unavailable.
Cairo
• DWI: Joshua E. Wells, 23, of Catskill, was arrested by state police at Coxsackie at 1:36 a.m. Tuesday on state Route 23 and was charged with drunken driving and driving with a blood-alcohol level exceeding 0.08 percent, both felonies, and with possession of marijuana, a violation. Also arrested, at 1:41 a.m., was Veronica Fascella, 26, of Leeds, who was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. Both were released with appearance tickets for Cairo Town Court.
• Criminal contempt:
Jeanette R. Miller, 48, of Wallkill, was arrested by state police at Gardiner at 9:50 a.m. Monday and was charged with criminal contempt with physical contact, a felony. Miller was released with an appearance ticket for Gardiner Town Court.
Hyde Park
• Grand larceny: David E. Rundall, 70, of Hyde Park, was arrested by state police at Rhinebeck on Thursday and charged with grand larceny, a felony. An investigation conducted with assistance from Central Hudson Gas and Electric Corp. found that Rundall allegedly stole power via an underground electric bypass designed to “significantly understate his utility bills,” according to a press release. Rundall was released with an appearance ticket for Hyde Park Town Court.
Lloyd
• Drugs: Lavasky S. Bernard, 25, of New Windsor, was arrested by state police at Ulster at 9:31 p.m. Monday on U.S. Route 44/state Route 55 and was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and aggravated unlicensed driving, both misdemeanors; and an equipment violation (exhaust system). Bernard was released with appearance tickets for Lloyd Town Court.
• DWI: Cody S. Makarewicz, 27, of New Paltz, was arrested by state police at Highland at 1:52 a.m. Tuesday on U.S. Route 9W and was charged with drunken driving and aggravated drunken driving, both misdemeanors. Makarewicz was released with appearance tickets for Lloyd Town Court.
Shandaken
• DWI: Paul Schiavo, 47, of Mount Tremper, was arrested by state police at Ulster at 9:51 p.m. Monday on state Route 212 and was charged with drunken driving and driving with a blood-alcohol level exceeding 0.08 percent, both misdemeanors, and with unregistered motor vehicle and unsafe turn (fail to signal), violations. He was released with appearance tickets for Shandaken Town Court.
Shawangunk
• Burglary/DWAI-drugs: James V. Bruyn, 30, of Pine Bush, was arrested by state police at Wawarsing at 4:03 am. Tuesday on Upper Mountain Road and was charged with burglary of a dwelling, a felony; and with driving while ability impaired by drugs, a misdemeanor. Bruyn’s status was unavailable.
