Howard L. Babcock Sr., 61, of New Paltz

NEW PALTZ » Howard L. Babcock Sr., 61, of New Paltz, passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, surrounded by his family, after fighting a long illness.

Howard was born in Poughkeepsie, a son of the late Morgan H. and Doris L. Beaten Babcock. Howard was a roofer/ painter by trade and worked many years for Vanguard in Poughkeepsie. He loved to be outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Howard had a big heart and was loved by all who knew him.

Howard is survived by his longtime girlfriend, Ilene Epstein; his estranged wife, Sue Babcock; brother-in-law, Kevin Titus; his children, Howard L. Babcock Jr., Jennifer Farce (Kyle), Charles Babcock (Lisa), and Doris Rivera (Raymond); his siblings, Mary Culver, Frances Campbell, Delores Walters, Sandra Babcock, Gertrude Darrol, and Carol Babcock. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, three great- grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

A daughter, Barbara Babcock; a grandson, Jeremy Babcock; and a brother, Morgan (Junie) Babcock, all died previously.

Friends may call from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at George J. Moylan Funeral Home Inc., 2053 Route 32, Rosendale. At 7:30 p.m. following visitation, Sister Maria Lopez will officiate his funeral service.
