Ashton Adams, 26, of Catskill, is charged with second-degree murder in the killing of Brandyn Dayne Foster.

A Greene County grand jury handed up a murder indictment Tuesday against a third person in the death of a former Woodstock resident whose remains were found in February, the county district attorney said.

Ashton Adams, 26, of Catskill was indicted for second-degree murder, conspiracy, hindering prosecution, grand larceny, concealment of a human corpse, and two counts of tampering with evidence, all felonies. He initially was charged March 30 with the felonies of hindering prosecution, concealment of a human corpse, grand larceny and two counts of tampering with physical evidence, but the grand jury added the murder and conspiracy charges after hearing additional evidence in the case, District Attorney Joseph Stanzione said.

The charges stem from the death of Brandyn Dayne “Multy” Foster, 31.

Also charged with murder in Foster’s death are Sade Knox, 30, of Kingston and Carlos A. Graham, a homeless man whose last known residence was in Catskill.

Adams, Knox and Graham all knew each other, Stanzione has said.

While not providing specifics, Stanzione said Adams “basically acted in concert with his cohorts ... to engage in the death of Brandyn Foster.”

Foster, reported missing more than a year earlier, was found dead Feb. 6, buried at a house on Tool House Road in Catskill where he last lived. His remains were positively identified the same day.

State police have declined to say whether the remains were found inside the house or outdoors.

Adams is in jail in lieu of $100,000 bail, Stanzione said.

Stanzione said a court conference in the case has been scheduled for Aug. 21 before Greene County Judge Terry Wilhelm.
