Steven A. Coon, 58, of Red Hook
Steven A. Coon, 58, of Red Hook, N.Y., passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2018, at his home.
Born on Oct. 13, 1958, in Plattsburgh, N.Y., he was the son of the late Arnold E. and Betty Lou (Rhynders) Coon. Steven was a graduate of Red Hook High School.
Steven married Candy Artist on Sept. 12, 1992 in Milan, N.Y., and she survives him at home.
For nearly 40 years, Steven worked in the warehouse and as a forklift operator for McCollisters Transportation Group based in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Over the past year, he worked at Lowe’s in Kingston, N.Y. A devoted member of the Milan Fire Company, Steven served in the fire company for over 43 years and served as Chief for many of those years.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his son, Christian (Jennifer) of Kingston, N.Y.; his grandchildren, Olivia, Ariana, and Joseph; a great-granddaughter,
Isabella; his sister, April (Edward) Pulver of Red Hook, N.Y.; his brother, Ricky (Annette) Coon of Milan, N.Y.; his uncle, Ronald Rhynders, Sr., of Red Hook, N.Y.; his aunt, Diane (George) Cole of Tennessee; his brothersin-law, Clifford (Tammy) Artist of Tilson, N.Y., and Craig (Samantha) Artist of Tivoli, N.Y.; along with 12 nieces and nephews, countless extended family, colleagues, and friends.
An uncle, Dick Rhynders, predeceased him.
Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Milan Fire Company will conduct services
at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at Burnett & White Funeral Homes, Red Hook, N.Y. Reverend Fred C. Cartier will officiate. Burial will be at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Red Hook.
Memorial donations may be made in Steven’s memory to the Milan Rescue Squad, 250 Williams Road, Milan, N.Y., 12571.
