5 sold liquor to minors, police say
Five employees of convenience and liquor stores in southern Ulster and northern Orange counties have been charged by state police with prohibited sale of an alcoholic beverage to minors.
Trooper Steven Nevel said the sales were made to minors who were “volunteers from various community groups” and work with state police.
Cited by state police on July 12 were:
• Muhammad Ali, 27, of Monroe, at 7:55 p.m. at the Marlboro Market on Western Avenue in Marlborough. He was charged with the misdemeanor of prohibited sale of an alcoholic beverage and released with a ticket to appear in Marlborough Town Court.
• Kawaldeep Singh, 31, of Middletown, at 8 p.m. at Herjer Wine and Liquor, U.S. Route 9W in Marlborough. He was charged with the misdemeanor of prohibited sale of an alcoholic beverage and released with a ticket to appear in Marlborough Town Court.
• Eric Grzechowski, 49, of Marlboro, at 8:25 p.m. at Balmville Wine and Liquor on U.S. Route 9W in Newburgh. He was charged with the misdemeanor of prohibited sale of an alcoholic beverage and was released with a ticket to appear in Newburgh Town Court.
• Issac Choi, 22, of Poughkeepsie, at 7:02 p.m. at Highland Liquor on U.S. Route 9W in Lloyd. He was charged with the misdemeanor of prohibited sale of an alcoholic beverage and was released with a ticket to appear in Lloyd Town Court.
• Alyssa B. Mazzeo, 25, of Highland, at 7:25 p.m. at the Wagon Wheel Deli on U.S. Route 9W in Lloyd. She was charged with misdemeanor of prohibited sale of an alcoholic beverage and was released with a ticket to appear in Lloyd Town Court.
