VFW walks off with Upper B win over Auto Works
A six-spot in the final frame helped VFW walkoff with a 22-21 recent victory over 44-55 Auto Works in a Kingston Recreation League women’s softball Upper B Division game.
Kelly Owens homered and knocked in three runs, April Simpson hit three singles and had three RBI and Annette Knox tripled, belted three singles and had seven RBI to lead 44-55.
Deb Stoll smacked three singles and had three RBI and Elena Decicco dobuled twice, singled and had three RBI to pace VFW.
Down 8-2 in the fourth, the Diamond Vets rallied for 10 in the bottom frame, and added two more insurance runs in the fifth to key a 14-13 win over the Lady Legends in other Upper B Division action.
Heather Frantz and Mariah Williams each hit three singles and drove in two runs, Susie Coddington tripled and had a RBI and Sandy Davis doubled and had a RBI to lead the Diamond Vets.
Fallon Springs homered twice, hit three singles and knocked in two runs, Rose Wolf doubled and drove in three runs and Fatimah Franklin tripled and had two RBI for the Lady Legends.
Down 7-6 in the fifth, Sawyer Motors scored four in the fifth and put up a five spot in the sixth to beat Miss Shannah’s Place 15-10 in a Lower B Division contest.
Hope Brenna, got the win and drove in three runs and had a RBI, Dawn Bauer tripled and drove in two Runs and Kellan Hanck doubled and had a RBI to lead Sawyer.
Jenn Brocco homered, hit four singles and had three RBI; and Shannah Drake and Becky Brocco each belted a solo shot to carry Miss Shannah’s.
