The following items are based on information provided by officials in law enforcement and the criminal justice system.
Esopus
• DWI: Richard V. Dahl, 33, of Ulster Park, was arrested by state police at Highland at 7:15 p.m. Monday on U.S. Route 9W and charged with the felonies of driving with a bloodalcohol level exceeding 0.08 percent and drunken driving, the misdemeanor of aggravated drunken driving, and the violation of possession of marijuana. Dahl was released with a ticket for Esopus Town Court.
Greenville
• Aggravated drunken driving with a child: Renee W. Wendel, 31, of Orlando, Fla., was arrested by state police at Coxsackie at 1:52 a.m. Tuesday on state Route 81 and charged with the felony of aggravated drunken driving with a child and the misdemeanors of drunken driving and acting in a manner injurious to a child under 17 (two counts). Wendel was released with appearance tickets for Greenville Town Court.
• Official misconduct/ petit larceny: Terry Williams, 68, of Greenville, the Greenville Highway superintendent, was arrested by state police on Monday and charged with the misdemeanors of official misconduct and petit larceny. The arrest followed an investigation by state police, the Greene County District Attorney’s Office and the Office of the New York State Comptroller, Division of Investigations. Williams is accused of stealing diesel fuel and gasoline from the Greenville Highway Department during his tenure as superintendent of highways. He was released with appearance tickets for Greenville Town Court. State police were unable to provide any additional information.
Lloyd
• Drugs: George F. Kappel, 66, of Gardiner, was arrested by state police at Highland at 5:50 p.m. Monday on Picnic Woods Road and charged with the felony of possession of a controlled substance (cocaine), the misdemeanor of possession of a controlled substance, and the violation of controlled substance in a non-original container. Kappel was sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.
New Baltimore
• Drugs: Jami S. Saunders, 31, of Tannersville, was arrested by state police at Coxsackie at 3:45 p.m. Monday on Aquetuck Road in New Baltimore and charged with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance. Saunders was released with an appearance ticket for New Baltimore Town Court.
Town of Ulster
• Endangering: Jason DePalma, 37, of Ruby, was arrested by town of Ulster police at 3:14 a.m. Saturday following a domestic incident and was charged with two misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child and with misdemeanor assault. DePalma was released with an appearance ticket for Ulster Town Court.
