Library budget information meeting set for Aug. 15
ROSENDALE, N.Y. » Rosendale Library trustees will conduct an information meeting on Aug. 15 for questions on a proposed $307,925 budget carrying a 1.78 percent decrease of $5,575.
The session is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in the library at 264 Main St.
Under the spending plan there would be a $304,125 property tax levy carrying a 1.23 percent decrease of $3,775.
Changes in the budget include:
• Salaries at $175,700, for a 2.15 percent increase of $3,700.
• Retirement expenses at $17,000, for a 32 percent decrease of $8,000.
• Service contracts at $15,000, for a 20 percent increase of $2,500.
• Workers compensation at $6,000, for a 50 percent increase of $2,000.
• Contract labor costs of $1,800, after not being included in the current budget.
• Auditor fees at $1,000, for a $4,000 decrease of 80 percent.
• Legal fees at $1,000, for $4,000 decrease of 80 percent.
Also on the ballot will be uncontested board seats with four-year terms being sought by Amber Billey, incumbent Carl Welden and incumbent Craig Zisman. There is a fourth seat that will not have a candidate listed on the ballot because no petitions were filed.
Voting will be 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 6 in the library.
Absentee ballots will be available at the library beginning Aug. 17 and must be postmarked by Sept. 4 or hand delivered to the library by 5 p.m. Sept. 5.
