Dutchess man one of two drivers facing felony charges in fatal crash on I-90
EAST GREENBUSH, N.Y. » A Poughquag man is one of two who have been charged with vehicular manslaughter in connection with a fatal crash on I-90 in the town of East Greenbush on Saturday afternoon, Aug. 11, 2018.
State police concluded that August Rice, 23, of Rexford, was driving eastbound on I-90 when he struck a vehicle, causing it to cross the median into the westbound lanes where it was struck by a car driven by Rex Tucker-Moss, 41, of Poughquag.
The driver of the car struck by both vehicles was killed. The victim’s identity was not immediately released pending notification of relatives.
Rice and Tucker-Moss were both determined to be intoxicated and TuckerMoss was found to have been driving with two children, ages 10 and seven, in the car.
Tucker-Moss was arrested and charged with vehicular manslaughter, two counts of aggravated DWI under Leandra’s Law for having children in the car, driving while intoxicated and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
Tucker-Moss was sent to the Rensselaer County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or bond.
Rice was arrested on charges of vehicular manslaughter, driving while intoxicated, driving while ability impaired by drugs and moving unsafely from a lane of traffic. He was sent to the Rensselaer County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or bond.
