Aaron Cox, a former Los Angeles Angels pitching prospect and the brother-in-law of Mike Trout, has died. He was 24.

The Angels disclosed no further details Wednesday in a statement issued on behalf of Trout and his wife, Jessica Cox.

Cox was a 19th-round draft pick by the Angels in 2015. He attended Millville High School in New Jersey and Gannon University.

Cox spent parts of three seasons in the Angels’ system, including 11 games this season with Class-A Inland Empire. He retired from baseball earlier this summer.

Trout had been away from the Angels this week due to a personal family matter. The twotime AL MVP is on the disabled list with an injured right wrist.

The Denver Broncos made a series of roster moves Wednesday in advance of their joint practice with the Chicago Bears. They claimed wide receiver DeAndrew White off waivers from Houston and signed defensive lineman DeQuinton Osborne.

In corresponding moves, the Broncos waived/injured wide receiver Corey “Philly” Brown, who sustained a head injury in the weight room shortly after his recent arrival, and defensive lineman Paul Boyette.

White is a fourth-year pro who has appeared in six games with the 49ers (2015) and Texans (2017) while also spending time on the Patriots’ practice squad and offseason roster from 2016-17. He has three career catches and six kickoff returns.

Danijel Subasic says he is retiring from international soccer, becoming the third Croatian player that reached the World Cup final to leave the national team.

The 33-year-old Subasic joins defender Vedran Corluka and striker Mario Mandzukic in calling it quits.

Subasic says “the time has come to say farewell to my favorite jersey after 10 years with the national team.”

He says he made the decision to retire before the World Cup, adding that playing in the final was his dream.

Subasic, who plays for French club Monaco, made 44 appearances for his country.

Croatia lost to France 4-2 in the World Cup final on July 15.
