Gina Kinyon, 54, of Hurley

-

Gina Kinyon, 54, of Hurley, N.Y., passed peacefully Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2018.

Gina was born Aug. 22, 1963; the cherished daughter of the late Robert Knox Sr. and Judith Knox in Kingston, N.Y.

A native of Kingston, Gina worked over 15 years at the Ulster County Infirmary, now Golden Hill Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, Kingston, N.Y. Gina loved playing softball and for many years played on and sponsored a team in Kingston, “G’s Unit.” She also loved to be surrounded by family and frequently hosted parties and cookouts at her home. Every gathering was an occasion for her mac and cheese, a family favorite. Gina was known for always dressing fashionably. If there was a wrinkle in her clothes, a hair out of place or the outfit did not match from the top of her head to the soles of her feet, she was not stepping out until it was right! Her sons can attest to this because simply put, Gina did not play!

Gina leaves behind to honor her memory her mother, Judith Knox; her loving husband, Ricky Kinyon Sr., who she married on July 13, 2002; beloved sons, Derrick S. Knox and Ricky Kinyon Jr.; stepchildren, Shinelle Fernandez, Malcolm Kinyon, Robert Kinyon, and Zachary Kinyon; siblings, Keith Brown (Shirley), Ted VanDyke Jr., (Mary), Debra Benson, Vella Bergeron, Daryl VanDyke (Diane), Dwayne Henderson (Reshma), Robert Knox Jr., Stephanie Wilson (Hilton), Guy Knox (Takayo), Steve Knox (Dawn), and Crystal Knox; Goddaughters/nieces: Candice VanDyke and Ciara Spencer; five step-grandchildren, one great-step-grandchild, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Gina was predeceased by her father, Robert Knox, Sr.

Homegoing service will be at His Word Revealed Church, 205 Route 28, Kingston, N.Y., on Friday, Aug. 24, 2018, at 1:30 p.m. The family will receive friends from noon to 1:30 p.m., Pastor Theodore VanDyke Jr. presiding.
