Joan H. Wilson Aumand, 88, of Kingston, died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2018, at her home.

Born in Troy, N.Y., she was the cherished daughter of the late John and Loretta Hull-Wilson. Joan was a Confidenti­al Secretary for the Assistant Superinten­dent of the Kingston City School District for 17 years, before retiring in 1986. She was a long time parishione­r of St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church in Kingston.

Our parents moved to Kingston in 1957 and became active members of the Junior Chamber of Commerce. It was during this time that they met other young couples who became their life-long friends. Joan enjoyed entertaini­ng friends and family, trying out new recipes, gardening, and was an avid reader.

Joan is survived by her devoted husband of 67 years, William Maxime Aumand, whom she married on Oct. 21, 1950. She is survived by her four loving children, Sister Joann Marie Aumand, S.C.C., of Mendham, N.J., Barbara

Lee Hart and her husband William of Kingston, William M. Aumand, Jr., of Chesapeake Beach, Md., and Carole Lynn Stopczynsk­i and her husband Richard of Kingston.

Our parents, found immense pleasure being with their three grandchild­ren especially summers spent at Lake George with Christina Marie Aumand, Holly Irene Deans and her husband Matthew, and William Maxime Aumand III, currently serving in the United States Army, stationed in Alaska.

In addition to her parents, our mother was predecease­d by her three siblings, John S. Wilson (Ellery) of Albany, Willard H. Wilson (Barbara) of Albany,

and Nancy Faye Middlebroo­k (William) of Casa Grande, Ariz.

Visiting hours will be held today, Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2018, from 3 to 7 p.m., at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Avenue.

The funeral procession will form from the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:15 a.m.

A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 11:15 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church, by the Reverend Marc Oliver.
