Kathleen E. (Flanigan) Gallagher, 67, of Port Ewen

Kathleen E. (Flanigan) Gallagher, 67, of The Hills, Port Ewen, died Monday, Aug. 20, 2018, at home while in the comforting presence of her loving family, following a battle with cancer.

She was born in Kingston, N.Y., on Jan. 16, 1951; a daughter of the late Frederick and Virginia Mae (Hill) Flanigan.

Kathleen was employed for over 37 years with Ulster County Family Court retiring as Sr. Court Clerk in 2006.

She and her late husband, Henry N. Gallagher, lived in Hurley for 25 years, before moving to Port Ewen in 2001. She loved boating on the Hudson River with her late husband Henry on their 38 foot motor yacht “Suite Dreams”.

She loved her Shih Tzu’s: Chinsing, GiGi, Ruby, and especially her rescue dog “Benji” who supported her throughout her illness.

She is survived by one son, Patrick M. Gallagher and his wife Melissa of Hurley; one grandson, Brendan Gallagher; one sister, Joyce Girard of Kingston; one brother, Frederick Flanigan of East Kingston; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Laurie Gallagher of High Falls, and Raymond and Kim Gallagher of Florida; several nieces and nephews, Shawne Rider, Lou Lynch and his wife Maria, Casey Lynch, Kelly and Colleen Gallagher, Christopher and Matthew Girard; one grandnephew, Shawne Rider Jr. and his fiance Ariel Skunca, and one grandniece, Ailene Lynch.

The family will receive

friends at the GilpatricVanVliet Funeral Home, 339 Broadway, Ulster Park, Town of Esopus on Thursday, Aug. 23, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m.

The service will be begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 24, 2018, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Hurley Cemetery.
