Betty Lou Pirro, 80, of Sawkill, N.Y., passed away on Thursday, Aug. 23, 2018, at Ten Broeck Commons in Lake Katrine.

She was born Feb. 8, 1938, in Johnstown, N.Y., the daughter of the late Harold and Laura (Spraker) McGregor. Betty was married to her husband of 63 years, James J. Pirro.

Before moving to Connecticu­t, she worked at MetLife in Kingston in the Dental Claims Department; later, in Connecticu­t, she had worked for Electronic Data Systems as a supervisor in the telephone unit for state Medicaid. After moving back to Kingston, she worked for the Human Resources Department for State Taxes at Bank of America. She was a member of the Hurley Reformed Church and the Sawkill and Hurley Senior’s Groups.

She is survived by her husband, James Pirro of

Sawkill; her children, Michael Pirro and his wife Michelle of Atlanta, Ga., Kelly Mellin and her husband Eric of Kingston, Jacqueline Whipple and her husband Vincent of Kingston; grandchild­ren, Vincent Pirro and his wife Emily, Nicholas Pirro, and Mikayla Mellin; her greatgrand­son, Samuel Angel Bang; her sister, Caryl Simonds; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was predecease­d by her grandson, Samuel Angel Madero Jr.; her sister, Patricia Sohl; and her brother-in-law, William Sohl.

Arrangemen­ts are entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston, N.Y. 12401, where family and friends may visit on Monday, Aug. 27, 2018, from 4 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2018, at Hurley Reformed Church, 11 Main St., Hurley, N.Y. 12443.
