Catherine West Smith, 75, of Midland, Mich.

Catherine West Smith, a retired accounts payable and payroll clerk and longtime resident of Royersford, Pa., with the last four years in Midland, Michigan, passed away Aug. 23, 2018, at the Woodland Hospice House - Morey Bereavement Center in Mount Pleasant. She was 75.

The daughter of Robert W. Ritter Sr. and Agnes Peidl Ritter, she was born May 7, 1942, in Philadelphia, Pa.

Catherine loved her grandchildren and loved hearing about their adventures and had a special love for animals. Survivors include her children, Joseph Smith his wife JoAnn of Midland, Michigan and Steven Smith of Chalfont, Pennsylvania; five grandchildren, Seneca, Grant, Haley, Kent and Collin Smith; loving sister and best friend Linda Stofflet and husband Ronald of Oley, Pa.; sister, Rosmary Ebert and husband Volker of Knorrendorf, Germany; brother, Robert W. Ritter Jr. and wife Cheryl of Wilkes-Barre, Pa.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Catherine was predeceased by her husband, James W. Smith, and grandson, Blake Smith.

A private graveside ceremony and burial will be at New Prospect Cemetery in Pine Bush, N.Y.
