Mainetti, Mainetti & O’Connor wins slugfest over Savona’s in Upper D

A six spot in the seventh helped lift Mainetti, Mainetti & O’Connor over Savona’s 1916 in a wild Kingston Recreation League men’s softball Upper D Division game.

Down 4-0, Savona’s rallied for 10 in the second to go up 10-4, only for Mainetti to answer back with five in the third to pull within one. Savona’s then added two runs in the third and another in the fourth to go ahead 13-9.

But Manetti rallied for four in the fifth to tie it at 13-13, only for Savona’s to go ahead 16-13 in the fifth. After a quiet sixth, Mainetti’s six spot in the seventh made the difference.

Garrett Stoltz hit a pair of two-run homers, Kyle Gribilus hit three singles and drove in two runs and Matt Klun tripled and had three RBI to lead Mainetti.

Fred Miller tripled and had an RBI and Jimmy Pugliese tripled to pace Savona’s.

Ulster Financial walked off with a 10-9 win over White Eagle I in a B/C Division contest.

Charlie Glass doubled, hit two singles and knocked in two runs, Nick Carpino hit three singles and knocked in three runs, and Kevin Jones tripled and had two RBI to lead Ulster Financial

Rich Russell and Chris Santoroski each doubled and drove in a run to for White Eagle I.

Tim Elrath hit for a cycle to lead the G Squad past Deuire’s Trophies 16-13 in an A Division contest.

Trailing 11-10, the G Squad rallied for two runs in the sixth and four more in the seventh to go up 1611 heading into the final inning. It managed to stop a Deuire’s Trophies rally in the bottom of the seventh after allowing two runs en route to the win.

Anthony McCardle homered, tripled and had three RBI and Brian Demeicco homered and tripled to lead the G Squad.

Chuck Cruz hit three singles and had three RBI, and Anthony Namais hit three singles and had two RBI for Deuire’s.
