City of Kingston
· Fleeing police officer in a motor vehicle: James Vela, 47, of Modena, was arrested by state police at Gardiner, at 7:20 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, at the Ulster County Jail and charged with the misdemeanor of fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle. Vela was released with an appearance ticket for Kingston City Court.
Catskill
· DWI: Scott A. Paluba, 51, of Schenectady, was arrested by state police at Coxsackie at 10:36 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, on state Route 23 in the village and charged with the misdemeanors of driving with a blood-alcohol level of 0.08 percent or higher and drunken driving. Paluba was released with appearance tickets for Catskill Village Court.
· Obstruction of breathing: Michael Peacock, 30, of Catskill, was arrested by Catskill police on Grandview Avenue at 1:08 a.m. Monday, Aug. 20, and charged with the misdemeanor of obstruction of breathing. Peacock was released with an appearance ticket for Catskill Town Court.
· DWAI alcohol or drugs:
Michael V. Pernice, 30, of Palenville, was arrested by Catskill police on Main Street at 11:56 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21, and charged with the misdemeanors of driving while ability impaired by alcohol or drugs and possession of a controlled substance. Pernice was released with appearance tickets for Catskill Town Court.
· Obstruction of breathing: Paul E. Collins, 28, of Catskill, was arrested by Catskill police on Main Street at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, and charged with misdemeanor obstruction of breathing. Collins
was jailed in lieu of $250 bail.
· Give or sell alcohol to
person under 21: Megan L. Rivenburgh, 19, of Catskill, was arrested by Catskill police at 9:26 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, on Main Street and charged with the misdemeanor of giving or selling alcohol to a person under 21. Rivenburgh was released with an appearance ticket for Catskill Village Court.
· Drugs: Daniel Hodor, 35, of Catskill, was arrested by Catskill police on Thompson Street at 3:40 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, and charged with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance and the violation of possession of marijuana. Hodor was released with an appearance ticket for Catskill Village Court.
· Drugs: Brittney L. Wood, 30, of Athens, was arrested by Catskill police on Maple Avenue at 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, and charged with the misdemeanors of possession of a controlled substance and aggravated unlicensed driving. Wood was released with appearance tickets for Catskill Town Court.
· DWI: Christopher J. Derose, 28, of West Coxsackie, was arrested by Catskill police on Liberty Street at 3:39 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, and charged with the misdemeanor of drunken driving, aggravated unlicensed driving and resisting arrest. Derose was jailed in lieu of $250 bail.
Esopus
· Criminal possession of
a weapon: Anthony Isaac, 28, of Kingston, was arrested by Ulster County Sheriff’s deputies at about 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, and charged with the felony of criminal possession of a weapon, (two counts), the misdemeanors criminal possession of a weapon and aggravated unlicensed driving, and the violation of possession of marijuana. After Isaac was stopped for a traffic infraction, he was detained for operating with a suspended license and for being in possession of a quantity of marijuana, police said, adding that a subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a loaded pistol. Isaac is also on parole for a similar offense and is legally prohibited from possessing weapons as a convicted felon according to authorities, adding that a parole violation was also filed as a result of the arrest. Isaac was arraigned in the Esopus Town Court and sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
Saugerties
· Burglary: Gary E. Boyce Jr., 38, of Saugerties, was arrested by state police on Sunday, Aug. 26, and charged with burglary, a felony, in connection with an incident in the town on June 30. He was released from the Ulster County Jail on Sunday after posting $10,000 bail. Additional information was unavailable.
· Contempt: Jairo A. Gonzalez-Palma, 22, of 8 Myer Lane, Saugerties, was arrested by Saugerties police on Saturday, Aug. 25, and charged with the felony of contempt and the misdemeanor of trespass. Gonzalez-Palma is accused of entering a residence and subjecting to physical contact a victim who had been issued an order of protection against him, police said. He was sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.
· DWI: Ross S. Gill, 44, of 438 Schultz Hill Road, Rhinebeck, was arrested by Saugerties police on Sunday, Aug. 26, and charged with the misdemeanors of drunken driving and driving without a license. Gill allegedly had a blood-alcohol content of 0.31 percent, nearly four times the legal limit, authorities said. He was sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.
· DWI: Joseph W. Shultis, 33, of 1228, Blue Mountain Road, Saugerties, was arrested by Saugerties police at 3:46 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, and charged with the misdemeanor of drunken driving and the infractions of refusal to take a chemical test and failing to keep right. Shultis’ arrest followed a motor vehicle accident in which the vehicle he was driving ran off Malden Turnpike and struck a utility pole, police said, adding that he and a passenger were seen leaving the scene on foot. He was released with an appearance ticket for Saugerties Town Court.
Shawangunk
· DWI: Jason J. Grass, 34, of Pine Bush, was arrested by Ulster County Sheriff’s deputies at about 12:20 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, on state Route 52 and charged with the felony of aggravated unlicensed driving and the misdemeanor of drunken driving, as well as the traffic infractions of refusing to submit to a preliminary breath screening device, moving unsafely from lane, speeding and uninspected motor vehicle. Grass was released with tickets for Shawangunk Town Court.
Wawarsing
· DWI: Yousef A. Rizvi, 30, of Kerhonkson, was arrested by state police at Wawarsing at 1:05 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, on U.S. Route 209 and charged with the misdemeanors of drunken driving and aggravated drunken driving. Rizvi was released with appearance tickets for Wawarsing Town Court.
· DWAI-drugs: Todd Clarkin, 57, of Ellenville, was arrested by Ulster County Sheriff’s deputies at about 5:10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, in the vicinity of U.S. Route 209 in Marbletown, and charged with the misdemeanor of driving while ability impaired by drugs, along with vehicle and traffic violations. Clarkin was arrested after an erratic driver report, authorities said, adding that deputies located and stopped the vehicle a short time later in Wawarsing. He was released with tickets for Wawarsing Town Court.
