Kingston schools chief to issue periodic reports on progress toward meeting goals
School district Superintendent Paul Padalino plans to issue several reports during the upcoming academic year about progress being made toward goals he has set.
Padalino said at a Board of Education meeting Wednesday that his goals are in line with the district’s Comprehensive Improvement Plan.
One of the first goals, improving diversity among the district’s staff, already has resulted in a report being filed.
Other reports are expected:
• Sept. 12, on the district’s mental health curriculum being implemented by the Teaching and Learning Department as a new program this year.
• Nov. 14, on the past, present and future anti-bullying efforts.
• Nov. 28, on all grantfunded programs that are used by the district.
• April 1, on the annual professional performance review of teachers and administrators.
• April 24, on the state Education Department’s basic education data system.
Padalino also plans quarterly reports on student suspensions and the district’s Restorative Justice Program.
Other goals include monitoring renovations at the former Frank L. Meagher Elementary School, which is expected to be ready for prekindergarten classes in the 2019-20 school year and also will house the district’s administrative offices.
