Mary G. Tomaseski, 78, of Saugerties, died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018, at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck.

Born Aug. 3, 1940, in Kingston, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Gertrude (Olewine) Donnaruma.

A graduate of the Benedictin­e School of Nursing, where she served as class president, Mary worked for over 40 years as a Certified Registered Nurse for Benedictin­e and Kingston hospitals, primarily in labor and delivery. After retirement from the hospitals, Mary loved her second career as a school nurse at St. Mary of the Snow School in Saugerties. An active singer for many years in the Sweet Adelines, she also enjoyed the drum and bugle corps, quilting, sewing, and was quite the hobbyist. An avid sports fan, Mary was a dedicated mom who never missed a sporting event of her children.

Surviving are her husband of 55 years, John K. Tomaseski of Saugerties; children, Michael Tomaseski and his wife Patricia of Staatsburg, Patricia Tomaseski-Schneller and her husband Thomas of Hurley, Karen Fiore of Saugerties and Jeffrey Tomaseski of Saugerties; grandchild­ren, Maximilian, Mary, Alyssa, Anya and Sydney. Two brothers, Robert Donnaruma and his wife Barbara and John Donnaruma and his wife Joanne, as well as many nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral and cremation arrangemen­ts are under the guidance of Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home Inc., 27 Smith Ave., Kingston (www.jvleahyfh.com).

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. A funeral procession will form at 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. St. Peter’s Church, Kingston. Inurnment will be private in Montrepose Cemetery.
