“I had five guys carry the ball today. They all ran hard. We’re still working with the O line to get them where we need to be,” said new Rondout coach Chris Frenza. “Defensively, we were on point. Our linebackers — Austin Wells, Curtis Cafi-

ero, Sam Serrano and Lucas Poremba — did a nice job.”

Taevyn Reese had five tackles and 1.5 sacks and Romaguera had an interception for Rondout, which held Onteora to 15 total yards. Red Hook 40, Monticello 6

“We are young and, hopefully, with this first win under our belt, we can build off of that and continue to get better,” he said.

Wahlquist had eight tackles and a pair of interceptions and Nick Tsironis made 11 tackles to lead the Red Hook defense.
