Senior groups list meeting schedules

The Hurley Senior Citizens will resume their monthly meetings on Wednesday, Sept. 6, at 1:30 p.m. in Schadewald Hall at Hurley Reformed Church, 11 Main St.

The guest speaker will be Frank Almquist. He will present a slide show and informativ­e facts concerning the building of the Ashokan Reservoir. A short business meeting will follow and refreshmen­ts will be served.

All seniors are welcome to attend.

The Town of Esopus Seniors will not meet Monday, Sept. 3, because of the Labor Day holiday.

People who have signed up for the trip on Wednesday, Sept. 5, are reminded that the bus will leave the parking lot of the Esopus Town Hall Community Center parking lot, 284 Broadway, at 8:15 a.m.

The End of Summer Picnic will take place on Monday, Sept. 17, at noon at the Freer Beach Park Pavilion on Canal Street.

Those attending must bring their own drinks. There will be a DJ playing music from the 1950s and ‘60s for dancing and listening. The fee is $5 per person. RSVPs are a must.

The group will have a trip to the Bavarian Manor in Purling, N.Y., on Thursday, Oct. 18. The bus will leave the parking lot in Esopus Town Hall Community Center parking lot at 9:45 a.m.

The cost is $50 for members, $60 for nonmembers. This cost includes roundtrip bus transporta­tion, lunch and live music for

dancing.

Payment and sign up for this trip will begin to be accepted at the picnic on Sept. 17.

The Woodstock Seniors will meet Wednesday, Sept. 5, at noon at the Community Center, Rock City Road.

A member of the Woodstock Police Department will speak about safety and emergency issues. There will also be a pizza party.
