Town of Ulster
• Welfare fraud: Heidi Litts, 34, of Ellenville was arrested Tuesday, Sept. 4, by Ulster County sheriff’s deputies on felony charges of welfare fraud and two counts of offering a false instrument for filing. Litts was charged with filing several SNAP (food stamp) applications between January 2017 and December 2017, not disclosing her complete household composition and income to the Ulster County Department of Social Services, officials said. Officials said that, due to the undisclosed income, Litts received $1,502 in SNAP benefits she would not have received had she provided complete income information. She was released on a ticket to appear in Ulster Town Court.
Catskill
• DWI: Larie Pidgeon, 38, of Catskill was arrested at 11:47 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, on West Main Street by Catskill village police on a misdemeanor charge of drunken driving. She was released on a ticket to appear in Catskill Village Court.
• Resisting arrest: William D. Dean, 25, of Greenville was arrested at 6:47 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, at the Catskill Commons by Catskill village police on misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest and petit larceny. He was arraigned in Catskill Village Court and sent to county jail in lieu of $1,500 bail.
• DWAI: Meli Lopez, 21, of Hudson was arrested at 1:55 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, on state Route 32 by state police at Coxsackie on a misdemeanor charge of driving while ability impaired by drugs and a violation charge of possession of marijuana. He was released on tickets to appear in Catskill Town Court.
Esopus
• Mischief: Eric L. Navara, 23, of Ulster Park was arrested Saturday, Sept. 1, on a misdemeanor charge of criminal mischief. Ulster County sheriff’s deputies said they were called to a residence in the town of Esopus at approximately 6 p.m. for a domestic dispute. Investigation showed Navara allegedly punched the victim’s vehicle, causing damage. He was arraigned in Rosendale Town Court and released on his own recognizance to appear in Esopus Town Court. An order of protection was also issued on behalf of the victim, deputies said.
• Menacing: Shawn M. Hare, 25, of Wappingers Falls was arrested at 5:19 p.m. Monday, Sept. 3, on U.S. Route 9W by state police at Highland on a misdemeanor charge of menacing, as well as the violations of disorderly conduct and harassment. He was released on a bail bond, police said. Hare was also arrested at 9:30 p.m. that day on Church Street in the town of Lloyd on a violation charge of possession of marijuana. He was released on a ticket to appear in Lloyd Town Court on that charge.
Hyde Park
• Unlawfully dealing: Sai R. Ravipati, 24, of Poughkeepsie was arrested at 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, on Violet Avenue by state police at Rhinebeck on a misdemeanor charge of unlawfully dealing with a child. A short time later on Violet Avenue, a 17-yearold female from Hyde Park was also charged with the misdemeanor of unlawfully dealing with a child, police said. Both were released on tickets to appear in Hyde Park Town Court.
• DWAI: An 18-year-old male from Wappingers Falls was arrested at 2:28 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, on state Route 9G by state police at Rhinebeck on a misdemeanor charge of driving while ability impaired by drugs and the infractions of speed in zone and driving left of the pavement markings. Police did not provide the man’s name. He was released on tickets to appear in Hyde Park Town Court.
Lloyd
• Contempt: Michael Steinhilber, 36, of Walden was arrested Tuesday, Aug. 28, on a felony charge of criminal contempt. Lloyd police said Steinhilber was accused of violating an order of protection.
He was arraigned in Lloyd Town Court and sent to Ulster County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bail.
• Probation violation: Douglas D. Harris Jr., 47, of Highland was arrested Saturday, Sept. 1, on warrants from Ulster and Dutchess counties, Lloyd police said. Police said Harris was wanted on an Ulster County probation violation warrant, an arrest warrant on a misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance charge from the town of Lloyd, and a bench warrant on a misdemeanor aggravated unlicensed driving from Poughkeepsie city police. He was arraigned in Plattekill Town Court, released on $1,000 bail and turned over to Poughkeepsie city police on their warrant, police said.
· Drugs: Marjia Uddin, 22, of Brooklyn was arrested Friday, Aug. 31, by Lloyd police on a misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance. She was released on a ticket to appear in Lloyd Town Court.
Rosendale
• Checkpoint arrests: Two people were arrested during a DWI checkpoint enforcement detail conducted Saturday, Sept. 1, on state Route 32 by Ulster County sheriff’s deputies, Rosendale police and state police. Arrested were Zoe O. Harters-Saunders, 24, of New Paltz on a misdemeanor charge of drunken driving and Alijah M. Molinari, 31, of Tillson on misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance and aggravated unlicensed driving, as well as the infraction of driving out of class. Both were released on tickets to appear in Rosendale Town Court.
Saugerties
• Prohibited sale: Kishore M. Subadh, 32, of
Saugerties was arrested at 7:56 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, on U.S. Route 9W by state police at Wawarsing on a misdemeanor charge of prohibited sale of an alcoholic beverage. He was released on a ticket to appear in Saugerties Town Court.
• Prohibited sale: Madhusudan Shresta, 46, of Saugerties was arrested at 8:43 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, on Ulster Avenue by state police at Wawarsing on a misdemeanor charge of prohibited sale of an alcoholic beverage. He was released on a ticket to appear in Saugerties Town Court.
• DWI: Samantha L. Banks, 27, of 16 Vansteenburgh Lane, Kingston, was arrested Monday, Sept. 3, on a misdemeanor charge of drunken driving and a violation charge of consuming an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle. Saugerties police said they responded at 8:40 p.m. to a report of a vehicle stuck in a ditch on Tower Drive in the area of Glasco Turnpike. Witnesses reported the vehicle was teetering on two wheels and that some people were trying to push it back onto all four wheels, police said. When officers arrived, the vehicle was on the roadway of Glasco Turnpike in the area of the railroad crossing, police said. Police said the driver, Banks, was interviewed by officers, indicating she had been drinking alcohol prior to and while driving her vehicle. She was released to a third party on tickets to appear in Saugerties Town Court.
• Drugs: Megan K. Doyle, 26, of 82 Partition St. was arrested Friday, Aug. 31, on a misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance. Saugerties police said officers on routine patrol saw Doyle on Main Street in the village and knew she had charges pending from a previous incident on Aug. 24. The pending charges were for misdemeanor criminal contempt and violation harassment, police said. Police said officers made contact with Doyle at the corner of Main and Partition streets and took her into custody. During that process, Doyle was found in possession of oxycodone pills without a prescription, police said. She was arraigned and released on her own recognizance to appear in Saugerties Village Court.
