Barbara M. Fescoe, 77, died in her home on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018.

Born May 1, 1941 in Brooklyn, N.Y.; she is the only daughter of the late Anthony and Rose (Mastroianni) Augustine.

Barbara was raised in Newburgh, N.Y., and moved to Kingston at the age of 16. Barbara was a woman of myriad trades and talents.

She was a beautician for Mike’s Beauty Salon where she met many life long friends. She co-owned Barbara-Rosa Beauty Salon with her beloved mother and life long best friend, Rose. Barbara was a travel agent at Tourmates, worked in the jewelry department at Hess Department Store in the Hudson Valley Mall, and owned Catering by Barbara.

She was the first female President of the Town of Ulster Little League. She was a member of the Altar Rosary Society of Saint Catherine Laboure Church and sincerely devoted to the Blessed Mother and all her gifts.

Her home was open to many. Those seeking refuge could always find a warm meal, or comfort, which she so generously gave. No questions asked — her home was your home. She truly was a mother to all. She felt there was no other calling more important than being a mother, and she acted as such to anyone who came into her care. She was a woman of many layers, as complex as any mother could be. She was OUR most beloved skutch. Barbara is survived by her daughters who loved her so, Denise Rhoades and her husband Joseph, Lisa Petramale and her husband John, Nadine Ferraro and her husband Jim, and Beverly Hricisak and her husband Thomas; seven grandchildren, Jimmy, Alisondra, Sophia, Dima, Joseph, Thomas, and Ava Marie; two great-grandchildren, Jack James and Camden Shea; her brothers: Ronald Augustine and his wife Eileen and Michael Augustine and his wife Penny; and her sisters-in-law, Cheryl and Karen Augustine.
