Area business people ‘On the Move’
Cynthia White, of Germantown, N.Y., an account clerk at Columbia-Greene Community College and a member of the college’s Institutional Assessment Planning Group, has been named the winner of the college’s Assessy Award.
The award recognizes outstanding work in academic and non-academic assessment at the collegiate level.

Serena Cascarano, of New Paltz, has been named administrative marketing assistant with the Council of Industry of Southeastern New York, The Manufacturers Association of the Hudson Valley. She is a 2017 graduate of Iona College and recently completed her master’s degree in business administration at SUNY New Paltz. She spent the summer interning with the Council of Industry, helping to develop and market the manufacturing careers web portal www.HVMfgJobs.com.
Cascarano had previously interned at PC Public Affairs in Albany and Fingerpaint Marketing in Saratoga Springs.

Julie Tierney, of New Paltz, has been chosen for inclusion in the latest campaign catalog of beauty brand Avon.
Tierney, who has been recognized as among the highestgrossing sales representatives in the United States, will be the only campaign star from New York.
It is the first Avon catalog to highlight not only cover models but role models in business and as leaders in their local communities.
Tierney became an Avon representative 20 years ago when she left her nursing job to spend more time with her family.

The Bank of Greene County has announced staffing for its new branch office in Woodstock, the bank’s second in Ulster County.
Mandie Viscusi, of Coxsackie, will be branch manager. She has more than 10 years of community banking experience.
