Francis J. Naccarato, 69, of Saugerties

Francis J. Naccarato, 69, of Saugerties, N.Y., died Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, at Westchester County Medical Center.

Born Oct. 16, 1948, in Kingston, N.Y., he was the son of the late Francis and Eleanor (Mauro) Naccarato.

Francis was a civil engineer for the New York State Department of Transportation from 1971 to 2003. He was an avid sportsman and member of the Saugerties Fish and Game Club. Francis was a talented musician, specializing in the keyboard, and was a member of the band, “The Relatives.” He was a member of the Saugerties Lions Club, where he served as past president, and was also a member of its board of directors.

Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Linda J. (DePuy) Naccarato; his daughter, Diondra L. (Naccarato) Mazzella; and his grandchildren, Maximilian and Luca Mazzella. He is also survived by his sister, Darlene (Naccarato) Edwards (Lewis). Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws also survive.

Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home Inc., 27 Smith Ave., Kingston (www.jvleahyfh.com). Mr. Naccarato has made the selfless gift of himself to the advancement of medical science to The Department of Anatomical Studies at New York Medical College.

Memorial visitation will take place on Wednesday, from 4 to 8 p.m. A memorial Mass will take place on Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, Glasco.
