Donald B. Schoepf, 87, of Woodstock

WOODSTOCK » Donald B. Schoepf, 87, passed away Friday, Sept. 14, 2018, at Kingston Hospital.

Born Jan. 24, 1931, in New York City, he was the son of the late Rudolph and Helena Hanley Schoepf and resided in Woodstock for many years.

Don was a graduate of Kingston High School, Class of 1949.

After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving from 1949 to 1953.

After his discharge, he was employed by the Hildebrand­t Shipyard in Connelly, N.Y. Don attended RIT and obtained an engineerin­g degree in 1958. After graduating, he was employed by Federal Electric Corp. and worked for many years in Europe and the Middle East.

He retired as a union electricia­n with the IBEWLU, Local 363. He was a member of the Woodstock Reformed Church and American Legion Post 1026 in Woodstock. He was a great Civil War enthusiast and eager to share his knowledge about it.

He was predecease­d by two sons, Paul Rudolph Luke Schoepf and Eric Christian Schoepf; his great-grandson, Julian Schoepf; and his best friend, Mary Prisco Schoepf.

Surviving are his granddaugh­ters, Savannah Schoepf and Natalia Schoepf, and his sister, Katherine Kingston of Deltona, Fla.

Dear Mary, it is hard to put into words how much I have missed you. There are so many things I wish I would have said and done to please you. We had many good times together and many disappoint­ments.

I know I will see you again and our family will be together once more.

Friends will be received Saturday 9 to 11 a.m. at Lasher Funeral Home Inc., 100 Tinker St., Woodstock. At 11 a.m., a funeral service will be held followed by burial in Woodstock Cemetery.
