New Paltz nets shutout of FDR

Joey Richards lifted New Paltz High to a 1-0 victory over Roosevelt Monday in Mid-Hudson Athletic League boys soccer action.

Daniel Balutowski assisted on the game-winner.

Daniel Drewnowski made four saves in goal for the Huguenots to earn the shutout. Liam Woods and Matt Pagan combined for five saves for Roosevelt.

Saugerties 4, Rondout 1

At Kyserike, Axel Gomez scored two goals and Brandon Davenport and Jack Quinlan each had one to lead the (3-3) Sawyers.

Riley Stevens tallied late in the match for (3-2) Rondout, assisted by Omelyan Shuhan.

Sawyers goalkeeper Jax Mautone had three saves. Evan Lankhorst and Roman Hrab each played a half in goal for the Ganders, combining for nine saves.

Highland 2, Marlboro 1

At Highland, Tyler Johnson’s goal off an assist from Gino Mazzella 24 minutes into the first half broke a 1-1 tie to lift the (3-3-1, 2-11) Huskies to the win.

Matt Petty gave Highland a 1-0 lead off an Liam Whalen at the 15-minute mark before (0-6-1 overall) Marlboro’s Jason Reyes tued the score three minutes later.

Highland goalie Logan Scott made two saves to preserve the victory.

Dover 2, Millbrook 1

At Millbrook, Marino Landolo scored two goals, including the game-winner with six minutes left in regulation, to lift (4-1) Dover.

Gabe Galayda assisted on the winner.

Millbrook (2-4) tied at 1-1 on Ryan Hall’s shot off a Joe Fernandez assist with 11 minutes remaining.

Chris Caracundo had nine saves on 11 shots for Dover. Jahaziel Jimenez had 10 saves on 12 shots for Millbrook.
