Ellenville earns victory; Rondout dealt 1st loss

Mia Unverzagt’s goal with 7:35 remaining in the second half broke a 1-1 tie and lifted Ellenville High to a 2-1 MidHudson Athletic League field hockey win over Rhinebeck on Monday.

Ireland Travis gave the (4-3 overall, 2-3 MHAL) Lady Devils a 1-0 lead at the half when she scored on an Abigail Narbaiz assist before the (1-6 MHAL) Hawks responded at the midway mark of the second half when Erin Duke scored on a Penny Paldino assist.

Cora Aragon assisted on the game-winner, while Megan Eckert made one save in the win. Kristen Henderson stopped three shots in the loss for Rhinebeck, which was outshot 14-2.

JJ Cross River 3, Rondout 0

At Cross River, Tyman Cronin had two goals and an assist in the non-league win.

Rosie Ceisler added a goal and an assist in the win. Azure Jones stopped six shots in the loss for the (5-1 overall) Ganders.

Pine Plains 3, G’mantown 0

At Germantown, Meghan Murray, Ashlee Conley and Jackie Povall scored to lead the (5-2, 3-2) Bombers.

Lily Fanea, Arley Soria and Linday Farinaccio had assists in the win.

Taconic Hills 3, Pine Bush 2

At Pine Bush, Delana Bonci figured in all of the scoring with two goals and an assist to lead the (5-2) Titans.

Amelia Cannetto scored a goal, while Sage Pulver added a pair of assist in the win, with Sydney Kiernan making two saves in the win.

Helen Deretchin and Olivia Lenza scored goals, while Lyndsey Deretchin added an assist for the (24) Lady Bushmen. Abby Halpin stopped two shots in the loss.
