ROCHESTER >> Bernadette S. Darby, formerly of Dietz Court, Kingston, N.Y., died at Brookdale Nursing Home, Rochester, N.Y., on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018, at the age of 99, in the care of their staff and surrounded by her family.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Nov. 12, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Caroline Stulb.

Bernadette was a teacher in the New York City school system for over 30 years and retired in 1975.

She is survived by her nephews, Joseph Stulb and wife Gloria, George Stulb and wife Jane, and Sid Glazer; and great-nieces and nephews, Jason Stulb and wife Kerry (and their children Jolie and Jagger), and Kim, Brett and Corrine Glazer.

Bernadette was predecease­d by her husband, George Darby; her brothers, Joseph and George Stulb; and niece, Deidre Glazer.

Funeral arrangemen­ts are under the guidance of Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home Inc., 27 Smith Ave., Kingston, N.Y. (www.jvleahyfh.com) Calling hours are 4 to 6 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2018 at Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home. A funeral procession will form at the funeral home on Saturday, Oct. 6, at 9 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church on Wall Street, Kingston. Entombment will follow at Wiltwyck Community Mausoleum. Expression­s of sympathy may be made in the form of a contributi­on to either the Alzheimer’s Associatio­n or the American Cancer Society.
