Raul’s sweeps Adams in Upper D playoffs

Raul’s swept Adams 20-16, and 21-10 in a Kingston Recreation League men’s Upper D Division softball postseason series.

In game one, with Raul’s holding a 7-5 lead, Adams put up a five-spot in the third to pull ahead 10-7 only for Raul’s to Rally for two in the bottom frame and four more in the fourth to go ahead 13-10.

Adams grabbed a onerun lead in the fifth only for Raul’s to score five in the bottom frame to go ahead 18-13 and hang on to the lead for good.

Shawn Marchant homered, doubled, singled and drove in three runs, Steve Knox homered and had four RBI and Jesse Uttendorfe­r singled three times and knocked in a run to lead Raul’s.

Buddy Van Gaasbeck hit a double, two singles and drove in four runs, Gary Van Gaasbeck tripled and Kyle Chambers tripled and had two RBI to pace Adam’s. In game two, Down 5-3 early, Raul’s put-up a threespot in 4th to go ahead 6-5 and they added six more to go up 12-6 en route to the win.

Raul’s later scored nine in the sixth to put it out of reach.

Kayleb Paul hit two doubles, Andrei Johnson hit three singles and knocked in a run and Brandon Fletcher hit four doubles and had a RBI to guide Raul’s.

Joel Benicase hit three singles an Tim Cowan hit a pair of doubles and drove in four runs to pace Adam’s.

This mixed-level class incorporat­es vigorous and stimulatin­g strength-building postures for the first part of class, then transition­s to calming, flexibilit­y-promoting postures for the second. The session finishes with guided meditation for total physical and mental relaxation. As you refine your physical and mental skills through the yoga process, your body will feel balanced, i.e., stimulated yet relaxed, while your mind will be focused and peaceful. This class is not for absolute beginners. Students must know basic yoga postures. Instructor is Leslie Snow, who has taught yoga for seven years and been a personal trainer for 10.
