Ilena M. Ferrari Christman, 70, of Kingston

Ilena M. Ferrari Christman, 70, of Hone Street, passed away on Monday, Oct. 1, 2018, at Albany Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Brooklyn, she was a daughter of the late Edio G. and Rosina M. (Rizzo) Ferrari. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert M. Ferrari and his wife, Carol, and her best friend, Linda Arnold.

A proud member of the Rondout Valley Central High School Class of 1965, she acted as reunion corresponding secretary for many years and always looked forward to catching up with classmates, especially Patty Meehan and Susan (Lucas) Miszko, among so many other dear friends. Ilena was a legal secretary for the Ulster County Public Defender’s Office in Kingston until retiring in 2013 to enjoy time with family, friends, and her many crafting projects.

She is survived by her husband, Darrell L. Christman; son, Michael E. Christman and his wife Catherine of Stamford, Conn.; brother, Mark E. Ferrari and his wife Christine of High Falls; sister, Evette Ferrari Keizer and her husband Ronald of Kingston; and her dearest cousin, Rosa Connors; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be Saturday, Oct. 6, from 3 to 6 p.m., with a brief 6 p.m. service at George J. Moylan Funeral Home, 2053 Route 32, Rosendale. The Rev. Arlene Dawber will officiate.
