KINGSTON >> Carl R. Smith, 37, of Kingston, N.Y., passed very unexpected­ly Saturday morning, Oct. 6, 2018, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on Oct. 30, 1980, in Kingston, N.Y., the son of Candace E. Smith and the late Robert Smith.

Carl was a graduate of Kingston High School and was a lifetime learner. He enjoyed all kinds of machinery, electronic­s, and computers, and was very talented and knowledgea­ble. He could figure out how things worked and fix most anything. He was a collector of all kinds of equipment, tools, and items. His favorite thing was watching DIY videos on YouTube, then doing the project.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sister, Kristi Bruchholz; nieces and nephews, Christian, Ashley Angela, and Robert; an aunt, Linda SmithLee; and a very dear friend and mentor, George Sisco.

He was preceded in death by his uncles, Lance Miller and David Smit, and his grandparen­ts, Carol Inyard and Edward Miller and Marjorie and Robert Smith.

Entrusted to the care of to A. Carr & Son Funeral Home, 65 Lucas Ave., Kingston. A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, at A. Carr & Son Funeral Home, from 4 to 7 p.m.
