Jonathan B. O’Brien, 20, of Rosendale

Jonathan B. O’Brien, 20, of Rosendale, died on Monday, Oct. 8, 2018, from injuries in a motor vehicle accident in Accord. He was born in Kingston on April 29, 1998. Jonathan was a 2016 graduate of Rondout Valley High School. He was currently a Dean’s List student at SUNY Ulster in Stone Ridge in the Criminal Justice Program, and was also employed parttime at Emmanuel’s Market in Stone Ridge. Jonathan enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and basketball.

He is survived by his mother, Kelly J. O’Brien of Rosendale; his father, Matthew Rhoades and his wife Laura of Wallkill; his partner, Martina Jarvis of Accord; his sister, Marissa O’Brien of Accord; his brothers, Joey Rhoades, Connor Rhoades, Vinny Fleischer, and Matthew Rhoades, all of Highland; his maternal grandmother, Marion Drost (Bob) of Rosendale; grandfather, Bruce Ruffner of Hurley; and his paternal grandparents, Susan Rhoades and Francis H. Rhoades Sr. of Newburgh. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The Rev. Arlene Dawber will officiate his funeral service beginning at 7:30 p.m. Cremation will be held privately.
