Rondout notches shutout victory

Senior Courtney Coffey reached 100 career points for Rondout Valley on Tuesday as she got a goal and one assist to lead the Ganders to a 2-0 MidHudson Athletic League victory over Red Hook.

The Ganders dominated play, defeating Red Hook in shots (164) and penalty corners (9-2). The match, though, was scoreless until Coffey set up Lea Smith’s tally 6:29 into the second half.

Coffey got a big insurance goal with 16:47 left on Sophia Schoonmake­r’s assist.

Azure Jones had a pair of saves for (11-0 MHAL, 12-1 overall) Rondout. Red Hook goalie Zoe Christense­n had eight saves.

It was only the second loss of the year for (6-2, 8-2) Red Hook.

Kingston 3, Pine Plains 0

At Kingston, three first-half goals by Norah Prizzi, one off a Tori Quick assist, proved enough to lift the (8-3, 8-1) Tigers.

Kingston outshot the Bombers 33-0 and held a 5-0 advantage in

corners.

Angelia Mannino had 14 saves for the (5-5-1, 3-51) Bombers in the first half, while Alice Wilser came in and shut the Tigers out with 16 stops in the second.

“Wilser stopped Kingston in the second half. She was diving and she was diving and clearing balls like Wonder Woman,” Pine Plains Coach Deborah Beam said.

Rhinebeck 3, Webutuck 2

At Rhinebeck, Penny Paldino had a hat trick, including the game-winner in overtime, to lift the Hawks.

Webutuck struck first seven minutes into the match when Leahana Recchia scored. Paldino followed up with the equalizer midway through the half, only for Emily Simmons to put the Warriors back on top 2-1 minutes later.

Paldino tied with 3:29 left in the first half. After a scoreless second half, Paldino tallied the winning goal just 30 seconds into OT.

Rhinebeck led 26-7 in shots on goal.

Kristen Henderson had five saves for the Hawks, while Gabby VanAnden registered 20 for the Warriors.

Onteora 3, CoxsackieA­thens 0

At Boiceville, Corey Chun and Akansha Robinson both scored first-half goals to give (5-3) Onteora the lead, and Chun later rounded out the scoring with another goal in the second half.

Alanna Wood didn’t have to make a save for Onteora. Maddy O’Callahan registered five saves for Coxsackie-Athens.

Taconic Hills 2, Ellenville 1

At Ellenville, Sage Pulver connected off Lizzie Beck’s pass for the winning goal with just over seven minutes left in regulation.

Taconic Hills struck first when Delana Bonci knocked one in with just under 14 minutes left in the first half.

Anastasia Keener’s unassisted goal with one minute to play in the half drew the Lady Devils even.

Taconic Hills (10-3, 8-3) led 15-7 on shots on goal and edged (6-5-1, 4-5-1) Ellenville 4-3 in corners.

Meghan Eckert made 14 stops for the Devils, while Sydney Kiernan registered six for Taconic Hills.
