Top seeds advance to MHAL semifinals
All four top seeds in singles and the top two in doubles advanced to the final day of the Mid-Hudson Athletic League’s girls tennis tournament.
Because of the threat of rain and thunderstorms, the semifinals and finals will take place 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, back at Bard College.
New Paltz’s top-seeded Natalie Meyer and No. 3 Emily Savage of Wallkill dropped just two games in two matches to reach the semis. Second-seeded Grace Messenger of Marlboro lost only three games.
Meyer will play Savage and Messenger takes on fourth-seeded Ashleigh Dolan of Roosevelt in the semis.
The top-seeded duo of Sneha Kamada and Nazeen Shah of Spackenkill takes on Marlboro’s Sammy Jaros and Ava Del Salto in one doubles semi. The other matches another Spackenkill
team, Emily Ma and Rachel Li, against the No. 2 seed Riley Finnegan and Amelia St. John of New Paltz.
