Wallkill, Roosevelt, New Paltz, Highland sweep to wins

Wallkill High knocked off Rondout Valley in its senior night match Monday, winning 2624, 25-12, 25-18 in Mid-Hudson Athletic League volleyball.

Emma Secor distributed 31 assists to go with two kills and two assists to lead the (9-0 MHAL, 12-2 overall) Panthers, setting up big performances at the net by (Aniya Goodman (nine kills, three blocks, five digs, five aces), Colleen Romero (13 kills, five digs, two assists) and Madison Dembroski (seven kills, five digs, five aces).

Angelina Bartelt (12 service points with two aces, four digs) also had a big outing for Wallkill.

Roosevelt 3, Dover 0

At Hyde Park, Liz Miller (nine kills, 18 digs, 11 service points with five aces), Amanda Tiedemann (22 assists, seven points with two aces, five digs) and Shannon Martin Ignaffo (five kills, two blocks, 11 digs, seven points with three aces) powered Roosevelt to a 25-16, 25-12, 25-10 sweep.

The Presidents are now 9-4 in the MHAL and 10-4 overall.

Highland 3, Pine Plains 0

At Highland, the Huskies swept 25-15, 25-13, 25-19 behind Olivia Bell (five kills, five assists, five aces), Paige Dauenheimer (six kills, one ace) and Nicola Wilk (three kills, three blocks).

Emily Mason had five kills, Meredith Michette four and Lourdes Belanger three to lead Pine Plains.

New Paltz 3, Marlboro 0

At Marlboro, New Paltz won behind the play of Jordan Giancola (10 kills, five digs, five aces), Ella Skye Franks (seven kills, six aces) and Calla Cavelson (three kills, three aces, two digs).
