ACWORTH, GA. >> Mrs. Weonta E. Fitzgerald, 98, of Acworth, Ga., passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by family on Monday, Oct. 8, 2018.

Weonta was born to Georgiana Evans, on April 27, 1920, in Kingston, N.Y. She was a dedicated wife to her late husband, James (Jim) Fitzgerald; and was a devoted mother of four children and five stepchildr­en.

Mrs. Fitzgerald worked for many years at a dress factory and was a domestic worker at Benedictin­e Hospital for over 10 years, where she retired. She and her husband relocated the family to West Palm Beach County, Fla., where they settled for a couple of years. They eventually relocated to Georgia, where they spent the remainder of their lives.

Weonta leaves her legacy to her children: Audrey Waters, Kingston, N.Y., George Greenidge, Lawrencevi­lle, Ga., Elizabeth Montgomery (Elgin), Acworth, Ga., India Wilson (Sam), Smyrna, Ga.; stepchildr­en: John Fitzgerald (Denise), Albany, N.Y., Sharon Grimes, San Jose, Calif., Herbert Fitzgerald (Bobbie), Boynton Beach, Fla.; daughter-in-law, Dora Fitzgerald, San Antonio, Texas; and a host of grandchild­ren, nieces, and nephews.

Homegoing celebratio­n will be held at His Word Revealed Church, 205 Route 28, Kingston, N.Y., on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2018, the family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Funeral to follow at 12 Noon. Pastor Theodore VanDyke, Jr, presiding. Burial will be at Wiltwyck Cemetery, Kingston, N.Y.
