‘Kids Night Out!’ starts Oct. 19 in Kingston
WHAT: Program, “Kids Night Out!”
WHEN: Fridays from Oct. 19 to Nov. 16 from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
WHERE: YMCA of Kingston and Ulster County, 507 Broadway, Kingston
DETAILS: YMCA of Kingston and Ulster County is offering a five-week program on Fridays for children ages 5 to 10. Each session has a different theme. The theme for Oct. 19 is “Outer Space.” The cost is $20 per session. The cost for all five sessions is $75 for non-members and $50 for Y members and School’s Out participants.

Workshop in playing guitar on Oct. 28
WHAT: Workshop on playing guitar
WHEN: Sunday, Oct. 28, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
WHERE: Kleinert/James Arts Center, 36 Tinker St., Woodstock
DETAILS: The Woodstock Invitational Luthiers Showcase will present a workshop titled “Learn to Play Guitar in a Day!” As seen on PBS, this is a workshop for aspiring musicians of all ages who would like to play guitar but may not have time for weekly lessons. Admission is free. Bring an acoustic guitar if you have one. Some loaner guitars will be available. Preregistration is requested.
