Kingston outlasts Minisink Valley for win

KINGSTON, N.Y. >> A 25-19 win in the fifth set clinched a 3-2 victory for Kingston High over Minisink Valley in an Orange County Interschol­astic Athletic Associatio­n volleyball match Friday.

After dropping the opening set 20-25, The Tigers won the next two 25-10 and 25-19 before dropping the fourth set 22-25.

Tori Ost (two aces, 24 kills, eight digs), Shannon Bonewit (15 kills, two assists 17 digs), Kailyn Lukaszewsk­i (two aces, 11 kills, 14 digs), Tori Boulay (ace, three kills, 51 assists, 14 digs), Grace Tremper (three aces, four kils, two blocks, four digs), Joran Thomas (two kills), Victoria Demercuiro (assist, four digs), Julia Jankowski (four digs) and Ryan Fitzgerald (dig) led Kingston.

Roosevelt 3, O’Neill 0

At Hyde Park, The President’s swept the Raiders 25-10, 26-24, 25-20 in a nonleague contest to finish the regular season with a (12-4, 9-4) mark.

Liz Miller (six aces, 14 service points, seven kills, 10 digs, block), Gianna Felipe (two aces, eight points, five kills and seven digs) Abby Lee (seven digs, two aces, nine points) guided Roosevelt.

Charlee VanPappel (four kills, two digs, block), Autumn Herd (two aces, 22 digs, two kills), Bailey Friendrich­s (five kills, six digs, three aces, eight assists) led (8-9) O’Neill.

Spackenkil­l 3, Rondout 0

At Kyserike, Spackenkil­l swept Rondout Valley 25-18, 25-19, 25-21 behind the play of Julieanne McKee (27 assists, 12 aces, five kills), Maya K Johnson (14 kills, four blocks, two aces) and Bailee Abalos (12 kills).

Lauren Parete (18 assists, three kills), Mackenzie Fischer (seven kills, 10 digs), Gigi Koch (18 digs) and Allie Kinder (four kills, five digs) were tops for the Ganders.

Sullivan West 3, Ellenville 1

At Ellenville, the Devils fell to the Bulldogs 21-25, 25-11, 24-26, 14-25.
