Mary Rose Battaglino Sinnott, 83, of Catskill

Mary Rose Battaglino Sinnott was born on April 12, 1935 in Catskill, N.Y., the only daughter of Anthony and Elena Battaglino. Mary passed away on Oct. 23, 2018.

She was preceded by her husband, Richard T. Sinnott, and her brother, Michael Battaglino, of Catskill, N.Y.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Celene McManus (Kevin) of Delmar, N.Y., Tracy Sinnott of Long Island, and Colleen D’Alessandro (Hank) of Maplewood, N.J.; her son, Richard Sinnott of New York City; and six grandchildren, Henry, Nicholas, Catherine, Grace, Matthew, and Michael. She is also survived by her two brothers, Joseph M. Battaglino of Bonita, Calif., and Paul A. Battaglino of Petaloma, Calif.

Mary learned to do hard work at an early age. When her father died at the age of 48, the then 15 year old Mary, her mother and brothers all worked at various jobs to earn money to sustain the family.

Mary was very personable and loved people. She was a very strong and determined woman and will be missed by her family and all her friends.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Millspaugh Camerato Funeral Home, 139 Jefferson Hgts., Catskill. The funeral procession will form at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m. A Funeral Mass will then be celebrated at noon at St. Patrick’s Church, Athens.
