Dinner to aid farm family Nov. 3 in Tivoli
WHAT: Benefit dinner WHEN: Saturday, Nov. 3, from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m.
WHERE: Heermance Farm, 433 West Kerley Corners Road, Tivoli
DETAILS: The farm is hosting a benefit dinner to aid the Miller family, whose dairy barn in Ancramdale was destroyed by fire last month, resulting in the loss of a large portion of their dairy cattle. All ingredients are being donated by local farms. There will be a fourcourse family-style dinner with live music and dancing. Festive-formal attire is encouraged. Dinner will be served in a heated tent. Approriate lawn shoes are suggested. Tickets are $150 per person. The event is restricted to adults ages 21 and older.

‘Last Waltz’ screening to benefit scholarship
WHAT: Benefit screening of “The Last Waltz” WHEN: Thursday, Nov. 8, at 8 p.m.
WHERE: Colony of Woodstock, 22 Rock City Road, Woodstock
DETAILS: “The Last Waltz,” Martin Scorsese’s documentary of The Band’s last performance at the Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco in 1976, will be shown in a benefit for the Levon Helm Memorial Music Scholarship at Onteora High School. Admission is by donation.
