Marie J. Kelekian, 94, of Montrose, Colo.

MONTROSE, COLO. >> Marie J. Kelekian, age 94, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter, Cathy, in Montrose, Colo., on Oct. 19, 2018.

Marie was born on February 3, 1924, in Port Ewen, New York. She was a kind and caring person. She was the eldest daughter of the late Patrick and Marion (Wouters) O’Donnell. Marie attended Kingston High School and worked for Hercules Powder Company, American Heart Associatio­n and Key Bank as a trust officer. She spent many hours volunteeri­ng at Port Ewen Library, Klyne Esopus Museum and People’s Place in Kingston, New York. Most of her life was spent in Port Ewen, where she enjoyed being near her family, golfing, gardening and reading. Marie was a member of the Port Ewen Church of the Presentati­on.

Marie is survived by two daughters, Cathy Marie Kelekian of Montrose and Alice Kelekian Limber of Ohio; two sisters Patricia Groppuso and Nancy O’Donnell, and brother, Frank O’Donnell; four grandchild­ren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard N. Kelekian, and son, Richard J. Kelekian; sister, Delores McClary (O’Donnell); and brothers, John O’Donnell and Michael O’Donnell.

A family gathering is planned for the spring of 2019 in New York. Marie’s family would like to thank HopeWest Hospice for their care and support during this time. In memory of Marie, memorial contributi­ons may be made to HopeWest Hospice, 725 S. 4th St., Montrose, Colo. 81401. They would also like to thank Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory in Montrose for assisting the family with arrangemen­ts.
