City of Kingston
• Contraband: Juan A. Beniquez, 29, an inmate at the Ulster County Jail, was arrested Thursday, Nov. 1, on a misdemeanor charge of promoting prison contraband. Ulster County sheriff’s deputies said corrections officers had searched the inmate’s cell after noticing the odor of marijuana. The search turned up four balloons containing a small quantity of marijuana, tobacco, and matches, deputies said. Beniquez was scheduled to be arraigned in Kingston City Court. He is being held in the Ulster County Jail on an unrelated New York state parole violation, deputies said.
Catskill
• Aggravated family offense: Cheyenne J. Rex, 38, of Catskill was arrested by state police at Catskill at 10:32 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, on charges of aggravated family offense, a felony; criminal mischief, a misdemeanor; and harassment, a violation. He was held pending arraignment. Further information was unavailable.
Esopus
• Drugs: Anthony D. Latourette, 24, of Kingston, was arrested Thursday, Nov. 1, on misdemeanor charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance and petit larceny. Ulster County sheriff’s deputies said they responded at about 8:45 a.m. to an address in the town for a report of a theft of medication, and determined Latourette was responsible for the theft. Latourette was later found in possession of alprazolam, a controlled substance, without a prescription, deputies said. He was released with tickets to appear in Esopus Town Court.
Gardiner
• Rape: Brittin L. Caffrey, 27, of Gardiner, was arrested by state police at Highland at 2:11 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, on felony charges of rape and sexual abuse. He was held pending arraignment. Further information was unavailable.
Hurley
•DWI: Dean G. Beach, 49, of Kingston, was arrested by state police at Ulster at 9:52 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, on Hurley Mountain Road on charges of drunken driving, a misdemeanor, and failure to keep right and moving from lane unsafely, both infractions. He was released with tickets to appear in Hurley Town Court.
Wawarsing
•DWI: Amanda L. Bercze, 25, of Gardiner, was arrested by state police at Wawarsing at 10:50 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, on Berme Road on a misdemeanor charge of drunken driving. She was released with a ticket to appear in Wawarsing Town Court.
