Hungrytown performs Nov. 16 in Pine Plains
WHAT: Concert WHEN: Friday, Nov. 16, at 7 p.m.
WHERE: Stissing House, 7801 S. Main St., Pine Plains
DETAILS: Folk duo Hungrytown, featuring Rebecca Hall and Ken Anderson, will play a free concert. The concert was scheduled to take place at the Pine Plains Free Library, but will now take place at the Stissing House. Hungrytown’s music has received radio airplay worldwide. The library is sponsoring the concert.

World War I program takes place Nov. 30
WHAT: Program on the U.S. soldier in World War I
WHEN: Friday, Nov. 30, from 7 to 8 p.m.
WHERE: Pine Plains Community Center, 7775 South Main St., Pine Plains
DETAILS: Neil Murray will give a presentation on the material culture of the World War I soldier. Clothing, gear, weapons and accouterments, as well as personal items, will be discussed and displayed. A World War I soldier will come to life, as Murray will be wearing and demonstrating how to wear and use various items. He is an educator and military historian. Admission is free. Refreshments will be served. The event is sponsored by the Little Nine Partners Historical Society.
