TheaterSounds presents staged reading tonight
WHAT: Staged reading WHEN: Saturday, Nov. 17, at 7:30 p.m.
WHERE: Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Catskills, 320 Sawkill Road, town of Ulster
DETAILS: As part of its playreading series, TheaterSounds will present Cindy Lou Johnson’s “Brilliant Traces.” A woman arrives in her wedding dress, after driving for days, at a remote cabin in Alaska. There, she finds a man who just wants to be left alone. And then the blizzard hits. Can two people trapped together in the wilderness find a way to love together until the thaw? The reading stars Susannah Melone. Admission is by donation.

New Paltz Library hosts concert on Nov. 27
WHAT: Concert WHEN: Tuesday, Nov. 27, at 7 p.m. WHERE: Steinberg Reading Room at Elting Memorial Library, 93Main St., New Paltz
DETAILS: The library will present a concert by local sitar player Noé Dinnerstein. A sitar player for the past 40years, he is a disciple of the late Pandit Uma Shankar Mishra. He also studied classical khayal singing with the late Pandit Pran Nath. He will be accompanied by Naren Budhakar, a tabla player who has accompanied great maestros of vocal, instrumental and dance music. Admission is free and all are welcome.
