DETAILS: As part of its playreadin­g series, TheaterSou­nds will present Cindy Lou Johnson’s “Brilliant Traces.” A woman arrives in her wedding dress, after driving for days, at a remote cabin in Alaska. There, she finds a man who just wants to be left alone. And then the blizzard hits. Can two people trapped together in the wilderness find a way to love together until the thaw? The reading stars Susannah Melone. Admission is by donation.

New Paltz Library hosts concert on Nov. 27

WHAT: Concert WHEN: Tuesday, Nov. 27, at 7 p.m. WHERE: Steinberg Reading Room at Elting Memorial Library, 93Main St., New Paltz

DETAILS: The library will present a concert by local sitar player Noé Dinnerstei­n. A sitar player for the past 40years, he is a disciple of the late Pandit Uma Shankar Mishra. He also studied classical khayal singing with the late Pandit Pran Nath. He will be accompanie­d by Naren Budhakar, a tabla player who has accompanie­d great maestros of vocal, instrument­al and dance music. Admission is free and all are welcome.
