Fire destroys weekend home
A family of five escaped injury after a fire destroyed a weekend home they owned at 219 Wright Road on Sunday morning, Accord Fire Department Chief Richard Demorest said.
Demorest said firefighters were called to the scene at 4:20 a.m. and they found the house was already fully involved.
It took firefighters about 90 minutes to bring the blaze under control, Demorest said.
He added firefighters were challenged by the home’s location at the end of a long narrow driveway which made it difficult to maneuver equipment.
There were no injuries to the family, which only stays in the home on weekends, or to firefighters, Demorest noted.
