James F. Moylan, 58, of Rosendale

ROSENDALE >> James F. Moylan, 58, of Rosendale, died early Saturday morning, Nov. 24, 2018, at his home.

He was born in Kingston May 19, 1960, a son of the late Mildred A. and George J. Moylan Sr. James was a lifelong resident of Rosendale and was a graduate of the NY School for the Deaf in White Plains, N.Y. James had been employed at SUNY New Paltz for many years and currently served as an assistant at his family’s funeral home in Rosendale. Although being totally deaf since birth, James had a unique ability to master most any project once he saw how it was done. James, along with his brothers, George Jr., and William, constructe­d his own home. He was a member of Rosendale-Tillson Sons of the American Legion Post 1219. During his life, he was known to always be there to help anyone at any time and any place. James was also of great assistance in the care of his mother in her senior years.

In addition to his parents, James was predecease­d by a sister, Mildred A. (Micki) Lowe; a brother, George J. Moylan Jr.; and an infant brother, David Moylan.

He is survived by his brother, William E. Moylan (Denise DeHardt) of Rosendale; sister-inlaw, Darlene A. Moylan of Bloomingto­n; nephews, including William E. Moylan Jr. (Ashley), Michael W. Moylan of Stone Ridge, and their mother Diane Moylan of Rosendale, Jason P. Moylan (Emily) of Maple Hill; and several other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at George J. Moylan Funeral Home Inc., 2053 Route 32, Rosendale. A service to celebrate James’s life will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The Rev. Arlene Dawber will officiate. Inurnment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Rosendale.
