Joseph (Joe) Ladanyi, 75, of Woodstock
WOODSTOCK >> Joseph (Joe) Ladanyi, age 75, died peacefully but unexpectedly in Woodstock, N.Y., on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Oct. 7, 1943; Joe spent a 35-year career with Con Edison. He moved to the Hudson Valley in the early 1970s. He enjoyed house projects, splitting firewood, traveling to the Adirondacks and Cape Cod, reading, and music.
Joe will be fondly remembered as a spiritual, gracious, loving, humorous, and open-hearted person. He lived his life by the principles of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), of which he was a proud and sober member for 34 years. Joe
was a wonderful father, partner, grandfather, and friend to all of those in his family and life.
Joe will be cherished in the lives of his loving partner, Janet Hofsted; children, Dawn Martin (John) and Kim Traudt (Tom); grandchildren, Jillien, Ryan, Natalie, Amelia, Sadie, and Charley; sisters, Maureen Stolarski and Arlene DiMarco; beloved extended family, Jackson Hahne and Cayenne Fusco (Macey and Azalea); ex-wife, Adrienne
Ladanyi; a host of nieces and nephews; and countless friends.
A celebration of Joe’s life and memorial service will be held at Lasher Funeral Home in Woodstock, N.Y., (100 Tinker St.) on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2019, at 2 p.m.
