GRILL’S GOODBYE
Tom and Michele Koskie stand behind the cashier’s counter at the Uptown Grill on Sunday, the last day of operation for the diner at Schwenk Drive and Fair Street in Uptown Kingston. The eatery was packed around noon as regulars said goodbye to the Koskies, who co-owned the diner with Stelios “Steve” Ouloupis, owner of Michael’s Diner on Ulster Avenue. The 95-seat eatery opened in 2014 and was slated to close permanently at 2 p.m. Sunday. The couple said they now plan to take some time off.
